Colt Single Action Army revolver, .45 long colt caliber, 7 ½” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, hard rubber grips, serial number 168816 made about 1895-1896. The revolver remains in good to very good original condition showing 30% to 50% original blue and case hardening drifting to a light gray brown patina with some scattered very minor erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The barrel address is sharp and clear as are the patent dates, caliber, and rampant Colt markings. The front sight has been slimed slightly. There is some very bright and colorful areas where protected. The grips show some edge wear but are at least good to very good and fit impeccably. The revolver shows all matching serial numbers and all original parts. The action is crisp and the bore is bright. A far better than average pre-1898 black powder single action that is a 7+ on a 1 to 10 scale. Est.: $2000-$4000
