Colt Single Action Army revolver, .45 caliber, 4-3/4” barrel, fully and finely master-engraved by Howard Dove, for Michael Wayne (son of John Wayne). This revolver was custom ordered by Michael Wayne and shows a panel scene on left side of barrel, depicting stagecoach used in Wayne’s epic Western. The left top of frame is finely engraved in semi high relief, with the Red River D brand. The backstrap shows the facsimile signature of John Wayne. The balance of the revolver is fancily engraved with Germanic scrolls similar to Helfricht with checkerboard pattern on trigger guard, engraved sight, and D+ coverage. The pistol is nickel plated with screwless ivory grips by Dan Chesiak, serial number “SA64608”. Excellent to mint condition in original box.
