Colt Single Action Army revolver, .44 Russian and Smith & Wesson special dual caliber marking. 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, hardrubber grips, serial #342886. The revolver shows approx. 60-70% original blue on barrel and cylinder, evenly drifting at the left front muzzle and edges of cylinder. The ejector rod housing shows 50% blue mostly lifting on its edge. The frame shows 40-60% case hardening evenly drifting to grayish silver evenly drifting with rainbow colors covering the entire frame. The backstrap and trigger guard show 40-60% thinning blue. The grips are good with some even edge wear. Minor chip at bottom left grip, but fits impeccably. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp, the action tight, the bore very good and still bright. All correct matching parts and matching cylinder. A very limited number of single actions were made with the dual caliber markings, and this specimen is from a well-noted Salt Lake collector’s estate. No factory letter available at time of cataloging. May be fruitful to research. Est: $3,500 - $7,000
