Colt Single Action Army revolver, .44-40 cal., 4-3/4" barrel, blue and case hardened finish, raised carved Mexican snake and eagle grips, shipped to Albert Steinfeld, Tucson, Arizona May 15, 1907, six guns in shipment,with all features confirmed by factory letter except grips not listed, serial #294177; with holster and money belt, holster marked "I. G. Gomez maker Tucson, A.T." (Arizona Territory). A signed and notarized letterdated 1987 states that "I, Raymond Pacheco sold Mr. Robert B. Cahill Colt #294177 that belonged to and carried by my grandfather Nabor Pacheco". He states Nabor Pacheco was a Deputy Sheriff in Pima County, Arizona,circa early 1900s. Pacheco was the first native born officer to hold the title of Sheriff in Pima County. Pacheco was involved in hangings, gunfights and normal western lawman duties in his tenure as Sheriff andlater Chief of Police of this historic western town. The single action remains in original very good+ condition, showing 50-70% original toning blue and case hardening, some light erosion and pinprick pitting just
