Colt Single Action Army revolver, .32-20, 4-3/4” barrel, factory nickel plated, raised carved sheep-horn grips with “CR” brand on left side, serial #336545, shipped to Shapleigh Hardware Co. St. Louis MO, Jan 14th 1918, 4 guns in shipment, all features confirmed by factory letter except grips not listed. A notarized affidavit transferred onto metallic plaque states Carl Roice became the under-sheriff of Teton County at Jackson Hole in 1959, graduated from the Wyoming Law Enforcement academy in Laramie in 1962, became Sheriff of Jackson Hole in 1963. Also that he carried this single action Colt and describes it. Furthermore, that the mountainsheephorn grips were custom shaped for him by an old justice of the peace and that he wore the pistol during his duties and to show it off. He wore this exact pistol to the execution of Andrew Pixley, a convictedmurderer.
