Colt Single Action Army, cavalry series, US martially marked, .45 caliber 7-1/2” barrel, brown patina finish with traces of faint traces of blue. Inspected by DFC, serial #73821. The revolver remains in good to very good original condition with a grey to brown patina finish, some blue showing in protected areas, faint evidence of case hardening on frame, scattered light to moderate erosion and some spotting and minor pitting from exposure. The markings are good and sharp, the US on frame is stamped at a slight angle. Correct martial inspections all matching. “G” subinspected. The pistol shows a replaced cylinder pin and frame screw, otherwise correct. Matching military issue all the way. The grips show some normal wear, minor losses, and two notches on right side, and match the condition of the revolver well and are original to it. The front sight has been slimmed slightly. Good action, good bore, good overall. An Indian war veteran that probably saw service in the west. Made in the early 1880’s. Est: $4,000 - $8,000
