Colt Single Action Army Revolver carried by Legendary Western Cowboy Star Gene Autry throughout his movie and television career. This Colt was presented by Autry to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of “Art at Auction” produced by Christies, New York, October 8, 1985. Black Powder Single Action .45 caliber, 4 ¾” barrel, grey patina finish, faux-ivory grips with Cowboy on Bronc, inscribed “Donated by Gene Autry for the Benefit Auction – M.M.A. – NY – Christies, Oct. 8, 1986”, serial number 112830. The revolver shows a cleaned to grey patina finish, some light pitting and erosion, carry and wear. All matching serial numbers, some dings from stunts. Good action, rough bore (typical erosion from blanks) and some screws replaced. Presentation Display Cased in leather embossed French style Case with Presentation info on lid and inner label.
