'NRA Centennial' American made, Colt 2nd Generation Single-Action Army revolver chambered for .45 Long Colt, manufactured in Hartford, CT. The second generation Colt single actions were produced from 1956-1974. This revolver is a NRA 'Centennial' commemorative pistol marking NRA's 100th year. Revolver features a high gloss blued finish, a 4-3/4" round barrel, blade front sight, notched frame rear sight, fluted six-round cylinder, collard cylinder pin head, thin smooth curved trigger, bird's head style ejector rod button, two-toned hammer with polished sides, firing pin on hammer nose, checkered hammer spur, smooth grip straps, and two-piece gloss walnut grips with gold-toned NRA medallions. Barrel stamped "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in one line on the top of the barrel, and the left side is stamped "1871 NRA CENTENNIAL 1971." Two-line patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame. The frame markings and serial numbers are sharp and legible. The original high gloss blued finish retained is approximately 97% with scratches on the under side of the barrel, slight edge wear at the muzzle, and a slight drag line on the cylinder. Metal displays no rust, but there is deformation in a screw slot on a trigger guard screw. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also excellent. Action is smooth and crisp with a tight lock-up. The wood grips are excellent. Revolver includes original factory wood display box, and commemorative NRA coin.
Condition is NRA Very Good to Excellent.
