Early blackpowder single action revolver chambered in .38-40, circa 1894. Features a blued finish, 5.5" barrel, ejector rod, blade front sight, v-notched rear sight, steel frame with cylinder pin set screw, fluted six-shot cylinder, checkered hammer spur and two piece ivory grips. Includes a Colt factory letter confirming the configuration with ivory grips and stating it was sold to W. H. Crossman Brothers New York, New You & shipped to A. Baldwin and Company New Orleans, Louisiana in a one gun shipment. Finish has moved to a medium to dark grey patina with remanent bluing in protected areas. Revolver also shows light scattered pitting and legible markings. Matching serial numbers on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Action is strong, bore is good are ivory grips are very fine.
