Colt Second Model Single Shot Derringer with British Proofs
Produced between 1870 and 1890. German silver blade front and hammer notch rear sights, with the two line address and "NO 2" on top, flanked by Maltese crosses, and "41 CAL" on the right side of the frame. Matching numbers, with a pair of "crown/ V" and "crown/ GP" proofs on the bottom of the barrel. There is light scroll engraving on both sides and top of the frame. Fitted with checkered birds head walnut grips.

Condition: Fine, with heavy traces of original blue finish on top of the barrel and on the underside at the breech with the balance a smooth mottled gray patina with some pin point pitting. A smooth gray patina has formed on the frame. The grips are fine with some minor dings and scratches, with the recut checkering crisp. Most of the varnish remains. Mechanically excellent.
