Manufacturer: Colt Model: Single Action Army
Manufactured in 1957. Standard one line address on top of the barrel, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 45" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and the left side of the grip straps under the grip (6648). The matching assembly number "662" is marked on the right rear of the frame and on the loading gate. All nickel finish and fitted with stag grips with silver Colt medallions. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, nickel finish with grips as "Not Listed" , that the revolver was charged to "Sales Expense" and shipped as 1 of 2 to Joseph Hoffman-TV Director Warner Brothers Studio Burbank, California on November 8, 1957. Writer found a number of Joseph Hoffmans in the entertainment field on the internet, one of that period that was a writer for episodes of "Love, American Style", "Family Affair", "The Virginian", "My Three Sons, and "Leave it to Beaver" to name a few popular television shows and producer in the 60s for "Michael Shayne", "Alcoa Theater", 1956 and 1957 "Colt 45" and in 1956 "Ford Theatre-All Star Theatre". Writer finds it interesting that Mr. Hoffman produced several episodes of "Colt 45" in 1956 and 1957, and this revolver and another were shipped to him in 1957. Possible they were used in the programs or sent to him as a tribute.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% plus original nickel finish with a very faint cylinder drag line and some light scratches.
