Serial # 619743 Frames serial number is a 1919 production. The frame is stamped with the serial number on the right side, and the left side has Ordinance Dept. eagle with "No. 2 Type 1". "No. 41" is stamped on bottom left trigger bow. Left side of slide has the Savage stamp, right side is stamped "Model 1911 U.S. Army". Gun has flaked to a basic smooth brown patina with approximately 15% original factory blue remaining, smooth and clean with no pitting. The barrel is stamped "HP". It has all correct parts including long smooth trigger; checkered slide stop, safety, and magazine release. Hammer is checkered wide long spur. Small front sight, U notch rear. Very good original diamond checkered walnut grips that are not cracked. Has early pinned unmarked tempered magazine. Gun has the flat mainspring housing with loop. Very good bore. Perfect action. Nice example of a World War I Savage Colt, never messed with.
