Colt SAA revolver, .45 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, checkered black hard rubber eagle grips, #123892 with two factory letters dated March 31, 1993 and September 6, 2013, both confirming caliber, barrel length,finish and grips and both indicating shipment to Wm. Read & Sons, Boston, MA on September 5, 1889, 2 guns in shipment. This gun is also pictured in the Wilkersons and Hoyt book, The Official Record of The Colt Single Action Army Revolver , on page210; it is in overall fine condition showing considerable original bright blue on the barrel and trigger guard with ample original blue on the backstrap and ejector housing; the cylinder shows a pleasing mixture of muted original blue withbrown patina and the frame displays considerable original case colors with some silver toning to the recoil shield. The action and markings are crisp, the bore is fine and the grips are very good to fine; a very sharp, un-molestedblackpowder SAA. Provenance: Charles Layson, Richard Atkinson, Greg Brown. (Antique).
