Colt SAA revolver, .45 cal., 4-3/4” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, checkered black hard rubber Colt grips, #350865. This Colt is also stamped on the butt strap “S.A.P.D. No. 142” and is confirmed by a Xerox copy of a factory letter indicating all features and factory engraved stamping on the butt strap, being shipped to the City of San Antonio Police Department on December 21, 1927 in a group of 50 guns. This revolver is in overall very good condition showing approx. 60% original blue and case color with the majority of loss showing on the cylinder and the front of the barrel, not surprisingly from holster wear; all matching visible serial numbers; the bore is very good, the markings sharp, the action crisp and the grips are very good. A much-sought-after Law Enforcement-shipped SAA that would be welcome in any private or public collection. Est.: $5,000-$7,000.
