Colt SAA revolver, .44RF cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue finish, ivory grips, #694 with “DOUGLAS Co. S.O.” stamped on bottom of butt strap and accompanied by a double loop tooled leather Olive brand holster and cartridge belt. This gun is in overall very good condition showing a dark patina to metal surfaces, very good + bore with crisp action, sharp markings including italicized barrel address, matching visible numbers, beautiful mellow period ivory grips with characteristic agecracklature. Accompanied by a factory letter confirming caliber, barrel length and finish with type of stocks “Not Listed”, shipped to Meyer and Geiger, Omaha, Nebraska on June 28, 1876 in a group of 50 similar guns. The stamped inscription appears definitely period and there is a Douglas County located in Nebraska where Omaha is the County seat; holster and belt are well-worn but good overall with several cartridges that have been in the rig for many years. From a respectedcollection that was begun by collector’s father in the early 1900’s. (Antique). Est.: $13,000-$26,000.
