Colt SAA revolver, .38 Colt cal., 4-3/4” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, checkered hard rubber grips, #203125. Importantly, this gun is accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming the featuresexcept stocks “Not Listed” and indicating this revolver was shipped to the Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Co., Bisbee, Territory of Arizona on December 22, 1900, one of 12 guns in shipment. The gun is in overall very good condition showing a grey patina on metal surfaces over some areas of erosion and scattered pin prick pitting, matching visible serial numbers, very good markings, crisp action, fair bore, grips are overallgood showing honest wear. In addition to the desirable shipping destination, this gun is in the rare .38 Colt caliber of which factory records indicate only 1,011 Single Actions were produced in this caliber up to 1914.There is also a letter accompanying this lot from Lee Silva, noted Western author and collector mentioning the initials “B.B.” carved into the inside of the left grip and offering the possibility the gun may have
