Colt Royal Canadian Mounted Police Issue New Service Revolver with Holster and Documentation
Produced in 1940, according to the book "Arms & Accoutrements of the Mounted Police 1873 - 1973" by Phillips and Klancher (photocopy included) this gun was part of a batch of revolvers shipped to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on October 24, 1940. Markings and features are standard overall, with the addition of "NO. 2559" on the backstrap and "M. P." flanking the lanyard swivel. Included with the revolver is a brown leather flap holster, a registration certificate and provenance letter. The certificate and letter show that this revolver was owned by Philip Raymond Zerr, a retired Superintendent of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who picked up the revolver in 1965 as part of a R.C.M.P./ Crown Assets Disposal Corporation surplus sale.

Excellent, with 97% plus of the original blue finish, with some minor muzzle wear, thinning on the backstrap with some minor spotting, some mild edge wear, and scattered minor handling marks. Grips are very fine, with some pressure dents on the butt and light scratches and dings overall. Holster is very good, with some scuffs and cracks. Mechanically excellent.
