*S/N 125279 (altered to change the appearance with the addition of an ejector housing) This Colt .38 Special revolver has a 5" barrel, has been re-nickeled and has thick stag grips, all evident in the photo. It operates fine in both single and double action. Not intended to be shot. The serial number matches a 1956 Stembridge receipt renting it to Flying "A" Productions for Annie Oakley (copy included). There are numerous photos of Gail holding the revolver. Lot includes a copy of the 1955 Whitman story book “Annie Oakley in Danger at Diablo”, with image of Gail holding the gun, and autographed, “Best Wishes / Gail Davis / TV’s / “Annie Oakley”. Also included is an original Certificate of Authenticity signed by Stembridge’s Al Frisch, verifying the revolver’s Annie Oakley rental history.

Provenance: Boyd Magers collection.
