Colt Replica Black Powder Arms Cased Engraved Gold and Silver L. D. Nimschke Heritage Guild 3rd Mode
This exceptional gold and silver engraved Dragoon revolver is one of reportedly 50 produced by the Heritage Guild to commemorate the renowned American Master Engraver L.D. Nimschke. The 50 revolvers were manufactured "in the white" by Colt and finished by The Heritage Guild. Alvin White was the designer of the engraving on these revolvers and his firm "American Master Engravers" was commissioned to produce these revolvers exclusively for the Heritage Guild. In 1985 and 1986. The frame, barrel, trigger guard and backstrap are silver plated, the hammer, trigger, cylinder and ramrod assembly are gold plated, and the screws and wedge have a bright blue finish. The barrel, frame, trigger guard bow and backstrap are engraved in Nimschke style floral scroll with a punch dot background. The sides of the hammer have a wolf head motif. The left side of the barrel lug is engraved "L. D. Nimschke / ENGRAVER / 1832 - 1904" and signed "A.W" below that. The revolver has the standard barrel address, left side frame patent marking and Texas Ranger/Indian cylinder scene and marking. The revolver is fitted with a one piece ivory grip with high relief hand carved American eagle on each side. Complete in a handmade leather fitted Heritage Guild presentation case.
