This is an exceptional Colt Python double action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum caliber with a 4” vented barrel. The revolver features a blued finish with six shot cylinder and Pachmayr presentation rubber grips. The pistol is in matching condition showing 95% plus finish having holster wear on end of barrel and front of cylinder. The now discontinued Colt Python is considered one of the premium revolvers ever created. The Python model is one of Colt’s “Snake” guns and is highly regarded and sought after by collectors. The Colt Python has been referred to by Colt historian R.L. Wilson as “the Rolls-Royce” of revolvers and firearms and by historian Ian V. Hogg as the “best revolver in the world”. The revolver measures 9.5”L overall with a 4” barrel. Roll marked on the left side of the barrel, “Python 357 * 357 Magnum CTG. *” and on right “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CONN. U.S.A.” (along with the Colt’s Prancing Pony logo on the left side). Serial Number is V38824 manufactured in 1979 (early rare manufacture).
