Colt Pre-War Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol, #C186764, .45 ACP cal., 5'' barrel, blue finish, factory checkered walnut grips, with original two-tone Colt/45 Auto marked magazine. Originally shipped Jan. 4, 1938, in a one-gun shipment to the Robbins Co., Attleboro, Mass., with factory letter verifying all features. Letter further states that the pistol was returned to the factory Feb. 3, 1938, and then was shipped to Missoula Hardware Co., Missoula, MT, c/o R.K. Carter Co., New York, on Feb. 14, 1938. Condition is near excellent retaining approx. 97%+ original blue, with light thinning at muzzle area of slide and forward portion of frame. Reassembly arch beginning in left trigger cove area and extending upward and very lightly into the slide. Front strap with very minor areas of light scuffing and some high edgewear near mainspring housing. Barrel hood shows actioning marks, and area above right slide serrations shows a group of small scratches. Grips with light to just moderate flattening; grip screws show minor deformation. Action remains crisp, bore is mirror bright with carbon spotting in barrel crown area. Est.: $2,500-$4,000. (C&R/PPT)
