Colt Police Positive DA revolver, .38 cal., 4” barrel, blue finish, checkered Colt medallion wood grips, #381282. This gun is in overall very good condition showing approx. 90% original finish with high point and muzzle wear, fine bore, action, markings and very good grips. There is an interesting inscription on the right side of the frame “B of I.N.T & S.A.”; the gun is also accompanied by a period Colt Police Positive factory box in overall good condition but not numbered to this gun. Although no factory letter was provided with this Colt, there is a note from the consignor indicating gun was shipped April 17, 1929 to Shreve & Barber of San Francisco, California in a group of five guns. Shreve was like the Tiffany’s of the West Coast. It would be interesting to obtain a factory letter on this gun as the inscription may relate to a San Francisco Bank. Est.: $500-$700.
