Colt Pocket Patterson #5 with Ehlers type rammer, original blue finish, varnish walnut grips, serial #159. This is a subvariation within the #5 series that are slightly larger than .31 caliber and have thicker proportions, particularly the barrel. The pistol remains in near fine original condition with approx. 75-85% original bright blue finish, some areas of flaking and loss, and areas where finish has lifted show some light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting and spidery type rust. The cylinder shows 85-95% plus original cylinder scene, just slightly light with well-defined figures and “Colt” still visible. The hammer and lever show considerable case hardening. The varnish wood grips are very good plus to near fine with 90% varnish, a deluxe burl type grain, some small losses in the varnish, but generally very good overall. The barrel address is very light as is normal on this model. Generally crisp edges and very slightly used with all matching serial numbers including wedge, and the bore is near mint as the Patterson shows virtually no use. Original Charles DuPont inventory sheet documents purchase from Kimball Arms company, 12/15/1943. Est: $40,000 - $80,000
