Colt Pocket Model Navy Factory Cartridge Conversion Revolver
Produced in 1875 as a factory conversion to the .38 rimfire cartridge. Cone and hammer notch sights, with "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on top of the round barrel. Loading lever has been removed and plugged, and the ejector housing mounted on the right side. Bored through rebated cylinder with stagecoach scene, "1874" marked loading gate mounted to the breech plate, and a riveted striker on the hammer. The two line patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame and "36 CAL" is marked on the left trigger guard shoulder. Matching serial number on barrel, frame, cylinder, brass trigger guard and brass backstrap. All nickel plated, with a smooth varnished walnut grip.

Condition: Very fine, with 80% of the original nickel finish, showing minor flaking, strongest on the cylinder. The trigger guard and backstrap retain about 60% of the nickel with the exposed brass having an aged patina. The grip is very fine with some minor dings and scratches, with most of the varnish remaining. Mechanically fine.
