The 3 1/2 Round Barrel Model Antique small frame single action revolver chambered for .38 centerfire. Manufactured in Hartford, CT circa 1873-1880 as a new gun using many previously manufactured parts for the 1849 Pocket. Features a 3 1/2" round barrel without provisions for a loading lever or ejector rod, brass pinched post front sight, v notch rear sight cut into the the hammer lip, 5-shot rebated cylinder with roll stamped Stagecoach Holdup scene, thin curved trigger, checkered hammer spur, brass triggerguard & backstrap and one-piece varnished walnut grip. Matching serial numbers are found on the barrel, cylinder, arbor, frame, triggerguard and backstrap. The triggerguard is stamped "31 Cal" with an "8" over stamped on the 1. Revolver has been cleaned and has moderate dings & light scattered pitting on the metal surfaces. The brass triggerguard and backstrap has been polished and the firing pin appears to be a later replacement. The action is mechanically sound though the hammer occasionally has the ability to move too far rearward. The bore is good and the replacement walnut grips are very good.Condition is NRA Good.***Antique Firearm***
