Manufactured from 1875 to 1912. The top of the barrel is marked with the large italic "COLT", the bottom of the barrel is marked with a "crown/GP" and "crown/V" proof mark and the left side of the frame is double stamped (retailer error) with the Von Oppen trademark which consists of the letter "C", (double stamped) over a Rampant Colt. Brass blade front sight and fitted with varnished two-piece walnut grips. Samuel Colt met Freiherr Frederick Augustus Kunow Waldemar Von Oppen of Prussia while he was on his honeymoon and employed him as his representative for Europe working out of Belgium. In January of 1862 he was appointed to the London Agency at 14 Pall Mall. On November 23, 1872 Von Oppen wrote to the Hartford factory that the derringers were selling well in Europe and to protect the agencies trade that in the future all arms would be stamped with a trademark consisting of the letter "c" and a small "colt". Other Colt arms would also be marked with the marking.

Condition: Good. The barrel has a smooth gray patina and the frame has a pleasant aged patina. The grips are very good retaining half of the varnish with four gouges on the left panel, some high edge wear and a few minor pressure dents. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
