Colt No. 1, .41 caliber Derringer in fine to excellent original condition retaining most of its original nickel finish, serial number 1192. Approximately 90% -95% plus bright original nickel finish remains with only some very slight lossesat the muzzle and edges with a miniscule amount of nickel aging. The engraving and knurling are sharp and crisp. The screw, trigger and small parts show most of their original bright blue as does the hammer which retains its original spur. There is just a small amount of pinprick erosion and beginning normal age with a slight nick on one edge of the barrel. The barrel address is sharp and crisp. No British proofs. A strong 9 ½ on a scale of 1 to 10. The original release latch isretained and the bore is bright. It would be extremely difficult and expensive to improve on this Colt No. 1 as they are almost impossible to in this condition. Consigned to us by a San Diego collector’s estate who never saw a better examplein a lifetime of collecting. Which is why he purchased it from us two years ago at auction. Est.: $4,000-$8,000
