Colt New Service double action target model flat – top revolver, 44 Russian caliber, 7-1/2” barrel, fully and finely engraved and ornately gold inlayed. Serial #5016, factory letter confirms caliber and barrel length.Shipped August 22nd 1900 with one gun in shipment. The engraving is very deeply cut and almost chiseled in semi-relief. The gold inlays show lion, bobcats and other big and small game. The butt is gold inlayed in ascript signature motif with the name “N.J. Ulam” and the backstrap shows a interesting engraved and gold inlayed cross hatch motif. The revolver is fitted with its original checkered wood grips, the condition is mintas re-finished at time of engraving. Engraved by Floyd Warren of Ohio, signed and dated 1956 on right grip frame. Inlays are 13 members of the "Cat Family." Inlay on top-strap is taken from the Peter's CTG Co1912 catalog and calendar.
