This lot features a Colt New Line .22 caliber revolver. The revolver features a 2 1/4" barrel, seven shot cylinder, rosewood grips, spur trigger, German silver front sight, and nickel'd finish with brass frame. The Colt New Line was a single action pocket revolver introduced by the Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company in 1873. Two years after the Colt House Revolver (1871), a year after the Colt Open Top (1872) and almost simultaneously alongside the Colt Peacemaker (1873), the Colt New Line was one of the first metallic cartridge rear-loading revolvers manufactured by Colt's. It was, alongside the Colt Open Top Pocket Model Revolver (1871), one of the first pocket metallic cartridge revolvers made by the company. The Colt New Line .22 Caliber Revolver was in production from 1873 to 1877. This revolver was manufactured in 1877 during the last year of production. The barrel is marked across the left side reading "Colt New 22" with the top of the barrel reading "COLT'S PT F A. MFG CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.". The frame is marked with "22 CAL" on the left side with some of the nickel finish warn off showing the brass frame. The revolver is in fair condition with worn finish and working mechanics. Serial Number: 51879. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
