In 1957 Colt began to produce “Gold Cup National Match” pistols which they produced until 1970.This one serial number 167-NM was manufactured 1957, first year of production for the original run. 8+1 semiautomatic 1911 style pistol. 5" barrel NM grade barrel, blow-back action. Matte finish with polished sides. Front Patridge, and adjustable Accro rear sights. Skeletonized, serrated trigger, with adjustable stop. Straight, serrated mainspring housing, & fore strap. Standard M1911 features. Left slide marked "National match Colt Automatic Automatic Caliber .45 with Rampant Colt" One-line Colt address on right slide. Right frame has Serial number. Triggerguard stamped with triangle proof and "4". Barrel marked "Colt .45 Auto. NM". Slide action is smooth/tight. Checkered walnut grips with gold toned Colt medallions are excellent. Bore is excellent/bright. Blued finish is about 97% with minor edge wear/scratches. Comes with excellent blued magazine marked "Colt .45 auto." and original wood grain factory box, flap with label is missing.
