Manufactured from 1870 to 1890, at some point this pistol passed through the Proofhouse at London. Additionally, the frame shows signs of having been left "in the white" by the factory, possibly with a view to further embellishment or special finish on arrival in Europe. German silver blade front and hammer groove rear sights, with the two line Hartford, CT. barrel address flanked by Maltese crosses with "No. 1" at the breech, and matching numbers on barrel and frame. The underside of the barrel bears the London "crown/V" and "crown/GP" proofs, with a small "G" is stamped on the frame ahead of the trigger, and light scroll engraving on the sides and behind the hammer.
BBL: 2 1/2 inch round

An excellent sample of Colt's pocket pistol production, with a combination of markings and features that inspires the imagination.
