Colt Model 1911 U.S. Navy marked with documenting letters as one of a hundred issued to the U.S.S. Texas Battleship serial #43980. A documenting letter by Colt automatic pistol expert Scott Meadowsconfirms information as being recorded with Naval Bureau of Ordinance. The Colt retains 70-80% original blue that is evenly drifting and aging. There is some minor spotting but generally sharp with good markings. Thegrips are good with some edge wear. The barrel shows “P&H” inspections and all original small parts and markings. The lot includes a two tone lanyard bottom clip in like condition. The bore is good with someuse but still clean.
