Colt Model 1905 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #5073, .45 ACP cal., 5'' barrel, blue finish, factory checkered walnut grips, with one correct factory magazine. Pistol features case hardened spur hammer, and fire blued small parts. Shipped to Quintana Hermanos, Mexico City, Mexico, on March 30, 1911. (See page 230 of ''The Government Model'', by Goddard.) These pistols are considered quite scarce by collectors as only slightly over 6200 were mfg'd. Even scarcer, though, are pistols that made it to Mexico and then somehow made it back to the U.S. retaining any original finish. Condition is very good showing approx. 70% original finish with most of the losses to highpoints of slide, front and backstraps. Grips have light to just moderate flattening. Action is crisp, bore is very near excellent. Est.: $3,500-$5,000. (C&R)
