Extremely scarce single action semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 Automatic Colt Pistol, manufactured in Hartford, CT circa 1909. The Colt 1905 was an important stepping stone towards the 1911, as it was the first pistol Colt produced in the .45 ACP chambering. Approximately 6,100 of the Model 1905 pistols were produced from 1905-1911, this one bearing British proof marks on the barrel, slide and frame. Features a blued refinish, 5" barrel, round blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with 'u' notch, rear cocking serrations on the slide, smooth trigger, knurled low-spur hammer, heel magazine release, 7 round magazine, steel frame with slide stop & lanyard loop on the left side and double diamond checkered walnut grips. Pistol retains approximately 95% of its blued refinish showing edge wear, scattered handling marks, a small cluster of tooling marks on the left side of the frame, some light pitting on the slide and some deeper scattered pitting under the grips. The action is sound, the bore is fair showing shallow rifling & scattered pitting, the markings are very good and the walnut grips are good with wear. Includes a colt factory letter. Condition is NRA Good. ***C& R Firearm***
