Manufactured in late 1912 with rear slide serrations, blue barrel and two ton magazine marked "MIL/COLT/38CAL" on the bottom. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the slide, lanyard swivel and eight-round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. The slide has the two block, two line patent dates and Hartford address with a circled Rampant Colt behind the serrations on the left side and two line caliber marking on the right side. The trigger guard has a "W" assembler's mark and Colt triangle proof on the left side. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips featuring "COLT" in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 75% plus original finish overall with the balance a smooth gray patina on the front and back straps and on the trigger guard. There are a few minor dings and scratches. The barrel retains approximately 95% original blue finish with wear limited to the muzzle and chamber area from cycling the action. The trigger retains approximately 90% of the original bright fire blue finish and the hammer retains 80% of the original case colors. The grips are fine with scuffing and wear on the lower edge of the right panel a few overall scattered minor dings and crisp checkering. All markings are sharp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
