Pistol. Semi-Automatic. "Sporting" Model. First year of production single action semi-automatic pistol chambered in .38 Automatic Colt Pistol, manufactured in Hartford, CT in 1902. The Colt 1902 was the second pistol in the 1911 developmental lineage, it was an improvement over the 1900 Model with tool-less take-down, increased capacity, added slide catch, and lanyard ring. "Brownings Patent" Colt's Patent Fire Arms Mfg. Co., Pat'd April 20 1887, Hartford Conn. U.S.A. in two lines on the left slide, with Rampant Colt. Features a old re-blued finish, 6" barrel, round blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with 'u' notch, forward knurling on the slide, smooth trigger, heel magazine release. Serial number on left frame. Pistol retains approximately 95% of the re-blued finish with slight edge wear. There are polishing marks, and scattered areas of light pitting under the re-blue. All markings a clear. The action is sound, the bore shows good rifling with scattered pin prick pitting. Old curved Horn grips carved with Asian men in robes that may be Japanese Shinto Priests. Very good/detailed carvings. Curved parts of the panels has filler in them. An interesting pistol. No Magazine. NRA Condition-Good/Re-blued. C&R firearm.
