Colt Model 1878 double-barreled exposed hammer shotgun in 12gauge with 30” barrels remaining in very good plus original condition, serial number 7725. The barrels show 50% plus original brown with good strong Damascus pattern. The lock plates show 30% to 50% original case hardening with the balance of the frame drifting to a silvery gray. The metal is fairly sharp with just slight beginning erosion and some minorscratches. The trigger guard retains 50% original blue. The checkered wood stocks are very good plus with just minor handling and slight scratches. The original steel butt plate is retained. There is bright blue onthe lever and strong case hardening where protected. The action is tight, the Bores are bright and still very shiny. The gun locks up very tight and the hammers work perfectly.
