Colt Model 1878 double action frontier revolver in .45 long colt caliber with 4 ¾” barrel, nickel finish, checkered ebony grips, serial number 7652 with wide or large grip profile. Approximately 30% to 50% originalnickel remains that is peeling, scaling, and flaking and the areas where the nickel has lifted is gone to a dark brown patina with some minor pitting and erosion. The 2 line barrel address is crisp and marking ontrigger guard visible. There has been a lanyard removed from the butt. The grips though very well-made and attractive are more modern. The metal and nickel are completely uncleaned with no polishing. Action isworking and the bore is fair but timing and lock not quite right. Est.: $400-$800.
