According to the included factory letter, this revolver was shipped to Montgomery Wards in Chicago, Illinois on April 29, 1898, as part of a 7 gun order. All features are confirmed by the letter, including the grips. Fixed sights, with the one line Hartford address and Frontier Six Shooter markings on the barrel, a circled Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame, matching partial number on the rear of the cylinder and "9" on the loading gate and the left side of the grip straps. Checkered birds head hard rubber grips.

Very fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing a gray patina on the grip straps and cylinder, with a brown patina on the frame and barrel, small areas of pitting and scattered handling marks. Grips are excellent, with some mild pressure dents concentrated on the front of the right panel. Mechanically excellent.
