Colt Model 1877 double action Lightning revolver in .38 caliber with 4 ½” barrel, traces of blue and case hardened finish, hard rubber grips, serial number 147139 made post 1898. This revolver shows 10% to 20%original blue drifting to a gray brown patina with some scattered light to moderate erosion and pitting. The markings are good and all visible. The serial number on the blackstrap has been removed and there mayhave been something removed from the blackstrap such as an inscription also the blackstrap is refinished. The grips show some high point and edge wear. Shows large front sight which is correct for late production.There is a M. M. stamp on the bottom of the barrel which is old and may have something to do with a Mexican railroad. The action is working at time of cataloging and bore is fairly good. Est.: $400-800.
