Colt Model 1877 Lightning revolver, .38 caliber, Serial #66579. The Storekeeper model, made without an ejector is in overall good condition with a 3 ½” barrel. The period nickel finish is confined primarily to the pistols frame with onlyapproximately 20% still showing. The rest has drifted to a gray patina, with some case color visible on the trigger in protected areas. Although faint, the barrel address is still visible along with the patent dates below thecylinder, the front sight is a well done replacement. The hard rubber grips show wear but appear intact without chips. The bore is good, while the action works in double action, but the hammer will not remain cocked. The pistol wasmanufactured in 1888.
