Colt Model 1872 Open top cartridge revolver, .44RF cal., 7-1/2” barrel, wood grips, #1730, in overall fair to good condition showing scattered areas of pitting, brown finish, dark bore, good action, visible two-line patent address on leftside of frame, working loading gate, wood grips are worn but good overall with an old repaired crack to the left grip. A desirable and hard-to-find specimen in the Colt revolver series as only 7,000 of the Model 1872’s weremanufactured and for some reason, many seem to have found their way south of the border where they received heavy use and were often extensively modified.
