Manufactured in 1866. The top of the barrel has the one line New York U.S. America address, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame and "36 CAL" on the left trigger guard shoulder. One of the cylinder flutes is marked with the 1850 patent date. Matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, (all 4 the 7 is stamped over a 6), the wedge and arbor pin are marked "3370" and the cylinder is mis-matched. Fitted with a smooth varnished one piece walnut grip.

Condition: Fine. The barrel and cylinder retain 30% of the original blue finish, mainly in protected areas, and there is 40% original case colors in the protected areas of the ramrod and frame. There are traces of the original silver in the protected areas of the trigger guard, with the balance having an aged patina. With the exception of a couple small gouges on the lower left side and a few dents and chips on the bottom, the grip is very fine with most of the original varnish remaining and a few minor dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
