Colt Model 1861 Navy revolver in near fine original condition, serial number 11991. The barrel retains 85% to 95% original bright blue finish which is still inky and bright. There are some slight losses along the edgesand some minor scratches. The barrel address is razor-sharp. The cylinder shows 75% to 90% original blue with most of the original cylinder scene and engagement dates mostly legible. Some minor pinprick pitting on thefront edge of the cylinder. The frame shows 75% to 85% strong original case hardening that is dulling and toning slightly. The hammer shows 30% to 40% darkened case hardening. The loading lever shows 75% to 85% case hardening. The bottom of the barrel beneath the lever shows brilliant original blue. The backstrap and trigger guard show 20% to 30% darkened original silver plate with the balance a natural brass patina. Thevarnished wood grips are fine to excellent condition with 90% to 95% original finish showing just minute edge wear and minor scratches. All matching visible serial numbers with tight action and bright bore.
