Colt Model 1861 Navy Percussion Revolver
Made early in the Civil War, possibly for militia. The top of the barrel has the standard one line New York address, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame, and "36 CAL" and "C" on the left side of the trigger guard. The cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas Navy scene and stamped. Matching full serial number on the barrel, frame, cylinder, brass trigger guard and brass backstrap, with the partial serial number (960) on the wedge. Fitted with a smooth walnut grip.

Condition: Good. The revolver has been cleaned bright many years ago and has now aged back to a gray patina with some minor pitting. Traces of the cylinder scene remain. A coat of varnish has been applied to the trigger guard and backstrap. The wedge screw is missing. The revarnished grip has some minor dings on the bottom.
