Colt Model 1860 Army fluted cylinder, .44 cal., 8” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #4412 in overall un-cleaned worn but overall good condition showing a dark patina on metal surfaces with the left side of the muzzleshowing holster wear, matching numbers on frame, barrel, brass trigger guard and iron backstrap; frame is cut for shoulder stock and is of the four screw variation; there is an old hole drilled in the butt of the backstrap where a lanyard ring may once have resided; the action is working but the timing is slightly off; the bore is dark. The grips are overall good with no visible cartouches and some scattered old mars from carry, wear and small old losses at the front “toes”; the bottomgrip strap screw is an old replacement; the gun is accompanied by an old tooled flap holster with Southern characteristics; it is in well-used condition. Per Flayderman’s, an estimated 4,000 fluted cylinder Army’s were produced out of theabout 200,000 manufactured between 1860-1873, making them desirable to collectors in any condition. Sending for a factory letter would be highly recommended for the successful bidder of this lot as occasionally, a “score” will be made
