Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver

Produced in 1867. Brass bead front and hammer notch rear sights, with the one-line New York address on the barrel, "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame and "36 CAL" on the trigger guard. Fitted with a Texas Navy style cylinder, a capping groove in the recoil shield, round trigger guard and a wide loading lever latch. Matching full numbers present on the barrel frame, and grip straps, matching partial numbers on the cylinder and cylinder pin, and "4504" on the wedge. Smooth one piece walnut grips.

Fine, showing 50% of the original blue, with a mixed brown patina on the cylinder and forward section of the barrel, bright edge wear, scattered scratches and some patches of moderate pitting (most noticeable on the recoil shield). 40% case colors are present on the frame and loading lever, with the remainder a mixed grey, and traces of the original silver remains on the brass, concentrated around the trigger guard. Grip is very good, with mild rounding at the toe and a few chips on the right side. Mechanically very good.
