Manufactured in 1855. The top barrel flat is marked "-ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON-." "COLTS/PATENT" is stamped on the left side of the frame. The cylinder is roll-engraved with the Texas Navy battle scene and "COLTS PATENT No 38335" marking. London "Crown/V" and "Crown/GP" proof and inspection marks are stamped on the left side of the barrel lug and on the cylinder between each nipple recess. The complete serial number is stamped on the barrel, cylinder, arbor pin, loading lever, frame and iron grip straps. The barrel wedge also has the number "38335" with the "8" double stamped. The trigger guard is stamped with the letter "V" on the left side. Fitted with a varnished one piece walnut grip.

Condition:
Very fine as partially refinished (cylinder). The barrel retains 70% original polished blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The grip straps retain strong traces of original blue finish (mostly on the trigger guard) with the balance a smooth gray patina. The cylinder retains traces of blue finish and most of the naval scene. The frame and hammer retain 40% original case colors and the loading lever retains traces of original case colors otherwise faded to a gray. The grip is very fine with a gouge (left side) and some minor handling marks with most of the varnish remaining. Mechanically fine.
