Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver with Case and Accessories
Made in 1852. The top of the barrel flat has the bracketed two line "ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW-YORK CITY" marking, the cylinder is roll-engraved with the Stagecoach holdup scene, "COLTS PATENT" and the full matching serial number. The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS / PATENT" and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked with an "A". All numbers match, including the loading lever and wedge. Complete in a blue velvet lined hardwood case with locking lid and five compartments with a powder flask, nipple wrench, two chamber "COLT'S / PATENT" brass bullet mold, loose bullets, spare nipples and a tin of Eley Brothers percussion caps.

Fine, with 30% the faded original blue finish. A mixed crisp brown patina is forming on the balance of the surface, along with small areas of pitting at the breech and cylinder. A few mild handling marks are also visible overall. Approximately 90% of the original silver is present on the grip straps. Grips are very fine, with most of the varnish and some mild pressure dents and varnish loss. Case is fine. There is some wear and brown staining on the lining and some scratches and dents on the surface. Action is fine.
