Manufactured in 1867. Brass cone front sight with hammer notch rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U. S. AMERICA" and "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame. "Crown/V" and "Crown/GP" proof marked on the left side of the barrel lug and alternating near the cylinder notches. The six round cylinder is roll engraved with the Stagecoach Holdup scene and marked with the partial serial number "8909". The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard and back strap, (with the letter "L" above or below), the wedge is numbered "98909", the loading lever, "909" and the arbor pin and cylinder, "8909". The barrel lug is also stamped "20725". The loading lever, frame and hammer are casehardened and the remaining parts blue. Fitted with a varnished one-piece walnut grip.

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 70% original blue finish on the barrel, trigger guard and back strap with areas of smooth grayish brown patina on the barrel, wear on the trigger guard and some thinning and minor spotting on the grip straps. The cylinder has a gray patina with some minor pitting, most of the scene is visible and clear patent/serial number marking. The loading lever shows strong original case colors in protected areas and the hammer and frame have a smooth gray patina. The grip is very good with a tiny chip on the right toe, minimal lower edge wear and a few minor dents. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
